Batchfire is an employer of choice within Queensland’s mining sector.

We offer a wide variety of exciting career paths which reward employees’ dedication, reliability and commitment to continuous improvement.

Our people operate in a workplace that is safety-led, inclusive and challenging. When you join Batchfire you will enter a team environment with strong, accountable leadership that values feedback.

Managing your work/life balance is one of the important differences making Batchfire such a desirable employer within the energy sector.

Around 85 per cent of our Callide Mine site employees live within the Callide Valley and our entire site workforce is drawn from the regional community, with no requirement for ‘fly-in fly-out’ workers.

We are proud that this residential approach model makes it easier for our people to maintain close connections to their families and our region, without the challenge of spending long periods working away from home.

Careers with Batchfire are based at our Callide Mine site near Biloela or at our corporate office in Brisbane.

Inclusion and diversity

Batchfire is an equal opportunity employer with a strong commitment to maintaining a workplace that is free from all forms of unlawful discrimination, harassment, bullying, victimisation or any other inappropriate workplace conduct.

We are committed to building a strong and resilient workforce and recognise the importance of diversity, inclusion and flexible working. We prioritise health and safety and actively promote a culture of awareness of compliance.

Batchfire continues to offer new-to-industry traineeships or scholarships for local people in up-skilling, technical and professional pathways at the Callide Mine.

Recognising the diverse skills and talents of our workforce and enabling people from all backgrounds to thrive in a supportive environment is vital to the success of our business.

Batchfire has robust policies in place to support our commitment to being an equal employment opportunity and anti-discrimination workplace.

We have a strong relationship with the First Nations Gaangalu Nation People, the Traditional Owners of the land where we operate, and seek to increase ongoing First Nations employment and business partnership opportunities.

Training

At Batchfire we support our employees by upgrading their skillset and career growth though continuous learning during their employment with us.

Ongoing training is beneficial to all aspects of our operations. Maintaining a highly skilled, technology-savvy workforce helps us to achieve our business performance objectives and underlines our commitment to the people who work with us.

Batchfire employees can also expect to receive regular training in site safety and first aid as we strive to achieve our shared goal of an accident-free workplace.
