Rotary Market Day inspires local job seekers
The annual Biloela Rotary Careers Market Day was a resounding success, welcoming locals of all ages to explore the vast career opportunities within this great region.
Batchfire Resources continues to invest in the next generation of workers, and is proud to sponsor the Biloela Rotary Careers Market Day held in May each year at the Civic Centre.
As sponsors, we also attend and showcase the many jobs on offer at our Callide Mine across trade, environmental, administration and operator roles.
Hundreds of students stopped at our exhibit throughout the day, with plenty of questions and interest in a mining career at our Callide Mine.
“None were more eager than Dean and Kurt Zahnleiter, two Biloela State High School students full of excitement for their futures,” Batchfire C Crew Supervisor – Engineering & Maintenance, Ian Hillier said.
Ian instantly remembered the two students, who also attended the Batchfire-sponsored QMEA Skills Trade Day at Biloela State High School.
“Since the QMEA Skills Trade Day these promising young men have shown initiative and commitment to their future, recently completing work experience at Batchfire’s Callide mine and local trade businesses relating to the mining industry,” he said.
“They are both halfway through their Cert II in Automotive Technology through Biloela State High School, looking to be first in line for an apprenticeship when leaving school. Batchfire looks forward to seeing you both in the future!”
The Careers Market Day has become a local favourite on the event calendar, made possible thanks to the incredible work of the Biloela Rotary Club team.
