Batchfire backs Biloela centenary celebration 

Biloela hosted its centenary celebration across the King’s Birthday long weekend from 4-6 October 2024, with an array of festivities that took the town by storm! Batchfire Resources was proud to support the celebrations as a platinum sponsor. 

The weekend celebrated Biloela’s rich heritage, and the remarkable spirit of the people who have called the regional town home for generations. The town was gazetted in 1924 and landmarks like the Post Office and State School were built a year later.  

As the region’s major employer, supporting around 1,250 local families directly or indirectly, much of our workforce joined for the weekend celebrations which included a Family Picnic Day, Gala Ball, Brigalow Arts Festival, Local Markets, Heritage Tours and an epic Motorcade and Float Parade through town! 

Of course, there were also bands playing, amusement rides, wood chopping and plenty of food – the drinks were flowing too!

Batchfire Resources acknowledges the Gaangalu Nation People, who named the area Biloela after their totem: the white cockatoo.
