Batchfire Resources supports Banana Shire Council’s renewable energy industry event

Batchfire Resources is a transitional energy business and the Callide Valley’s leading employer, so we welcomed the opportunity to join Banana Shire Council’s recent renewable energy industry event.

The gathering at Biloela ANZAC Memorial Club featured 87 attendees drawn from our region’s major industries as well as government agencies, local suppliers and proposed renewable energy projects.

Batchfire was represented by our Manager – Procurement and Supply, Scott Haynes, who is pictured with Cr Phillip Casey.

The event included briefings on Banana Shire’s pipeline of renewable energy projects, updates from Council’s Economic Development Team and a renewable energy supply chain forum.

A diverse group of local suppliers joined the event, demonstrating the strength of our community’s business network.

Many of these businesses have contributed to operations at the Callide Mine, as we spend around $65 million annually on products and services sourced within Banana Shire.

A transitional energy business

Batchfire Resources is currently progressing renewable energy projects which are central to our transitional energy business model.

To enable our long-term strategy of increased renewable energy generation while responsibly developing the Callide Basin’s mineral resources, our ESG and Development Team is investigating the potential for solar, wind, pumped hydro and commercial battery storage options.

These new opportunities, and the sustainability initiatives we have already committed to, form part of a road map guiding our growth beyond a pure energy coal operation.
